State of Maine Wildfire Danger Report
The Portage Lake Fire Department is a skilled and higly-motivated group of volunteers who dedicate their time to make sure Portage Lake and the surrounding areas are protected from fire and other emergencies. There are currently 8 members of the Fire Department; following is a list of Officers:

Meetings held 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month. We are always looking for able-bodied & self-motivated people to join the Department! You could earn an extra $1,000 per year or more! If you would like to have a brush fire that is not contained within a fire-ring, please contact the local Fire Warden Larry Duchette at the Town Office @ 435-4361 or home 435-1010, or Deputy Fire Warden Matt Boutot at Coffin's Genl. Store, 435-2811. You can also request an online burn permit directly from the State of Maine for a small fee.
