Thursday August 11

6-8 pm: Dessert Sale at the Congregational Church. Enjoy delicious home made sweets while supporting a landmark in our community!
6-8 pm: Family Fun Night at Ballfield & Tennis Courts. Come enjoy a community kickball game, try your hand at pickleball, or just come out to enjoy the municipal playground! This night is all about relaxing and enjoying the company of our friends & family! (Please bring your own camp chairs as seating isn’t available.)


Friday August 12

6–8 pm: Trick or Treating around town! Kids dress up & visit homes for traditional trick or treating! Costumes available at the Town Hall if needed. Participating households—purchase candy (nothing home-made, please), be sure to decorate your driveway & front door—or yourself!!--with fall or Halloween décor & call the Town Office to be put on The Trick or Treat Address List


Saturday August 13

9 am–3 pm: Portage Lake Historical Society museum open

10 am–1 pm: Whoopie Pie Festival @ tennis courts. Registration forms on this website or around town, $15 fee. All participants must sell Whoopie Pies, but can sell other goods as well.

1-3:30 pm: Cardboard Boat Race @ beach. Registration is required. This is a free event for all ages! Prizes will be awarded for each category. Contact Serena Bonville @ 207-227-0231 FMI. Sponsored by Bonville Boys, Installations Unlimited and H & R Block. 

3 pm: Motorcycle Rodeo @ School Street, sponsored by Portage Lakers Snowmobile Club. Featuring Pine State Motorcycle Club. Contact Josh Spooner FMI.

4 pm: Pig Roast @ Town Hall. $15/adults, $10/kids 12 & under. Benefitting PL Snowmobile Club new groomer shed.

6-7 pm: Annual Canoe Carry from Little Machias to Portage Lake. Watch paddlers come in at the Seaplane Base around 7 pm. To participate, contact Jim Dumond at 207-227-1864

8:45 pm: Fireworks show from Forestry dock

9 pm: Dance @ PHCC to Too Far North, $5 cover, must be 21 or older


Sunday August 14

11 am-3 pm: Portage Lake Historical Society museum open

Noon: Parade on Main Street, participants meet @ Ledge & Park Aves. by11:45 am. Summer Round-Up Committee will be selling Root Beer Floats at the Town Square.

1 pm: Cribbage Tournament @ Town Hall. $5 entry fee. Benefitting Portage Lake Historical Society
