Thursday, August 6
“Lake Life” Raffle: Sign up throughout the weekend at Coffin’s General Store. (Prize is water tube, rope & $100 gas gift card) Winner will be drawn immediately following the parade on Sunday! No purchase necessary.
6 PM: Kickball Game at Municipal Softball Field. This is a family event for people of all ages—2 games will be played: one family orientated; one competitive! Teams will be chosen at the event. It is free to join. Spectators, please bring your own chairs.
6-8 PM: Ice Cream Social in the Congregational Church basement. Pile high the toppings and visit with your neighbors while supporting a landmark in our community!
Friday, August 7
6-8 PM: Trick-or-Treat in your favorite costume all around town! Free event for people of all ages! If you want to have kids stop by your house for some goodies, contact the Town Office by August 6 to be added to the map. Be sure to decorate your front door or driveway entrance with Halloween decor. Trick or Treat yourself with a special stop on Station Road.
5 PM until gone: Pizza Night at Portage Hills Country Club – $4 per slice
Saturday, August 8
7-9 AM: Pancake Breakfast at the Town Hall. Serving pancakes, sausage, watermelon, juice/coffee. $12, sponsored by Portage Lakers ATV Club.
10 AM:
Cardboard Boat Race at the public beach on West Road. Build your own boat! Pick up a registration form at Coffin’s General Store or the town’s website. Awards for each category. Any questions, contact Serena Bonville, 207-227-0231

10 AM-2 PM: Museum Open House, Portage Lake Historical Society Museum at 9 Cottage Rd. Come in to explore the history of Portage Lake in our local museum! Donations appreciated!
12-3 PM: Whoopie Pie Festival: Municipal Tennis Courts near the Town Hall. Come and buy some sweet treats and other goodies & visit with friends. Vendors, $15 fee for a 12X12 space to sell Whoopie Pies and other fares of your choice. Registration forms are available on the Town’s website or at Coffin’s.

7 PM: Annual Canoe Carry from Little Machias Lake to Portage Lake. Canoe carriers meet Jim Dumond at the Pavilion at 6 PM Paddlers meet at the mouth of Fish Lake Road at 6:45 PM Spectators may watch from the Seaplane Base. Please be mindful of private property boundary markers. FMI contact Jim Dumond at 207-227-1864. Handouts of the history will be available, along with T-shirts for sale.
8:45 PM: Professional Fireworks Show: Launching from the Forestry wharf. Spectators may watch from the Seaplane Base or public beach (Please bring your own chairs).
Boaters: Please keep a safe distance and have plenty of lights on for the safety of all boaters.
9 PM: Dance to “Guilty Pleasure” at Portage Hills Country Club. $10 cover, must be 21 or older.
Sunday, August 9
11 AM-2 PM: Museum Open House, Portage Lake Historical Society Museum at 9 Cottage Rd. Come in to explore the history of Portage Lake! Donations appreciated!
11 AM- 2 PM: Mini Main Street Market Vendors contact the Town Office to reserve a spot (space is limited – $15 per spot). Vendors may set up from 11 AM -2 PM in the marked downtown areas to sell their goods before, during, and after the parade.
Noon: Parade on Main Street, weather permitting. Anyone can join! Decorate a float, walk, or ride a bike! Line up on Park & Ledge Avenues. Entries from all organizations or family reunions are welcome! To participate, contact Amy Collins @ 207-227-8231.
